Arts Club - London W1S
Since 1863, The Arts Club has been a meeting place for artists, architects and writers, with members as various as Dickens, Millais, Swinburne, Kipling and Elizabeth Frink. Wilkie Collins dealt with his correspondence at the Club. The first floor Drawing Room has a diverse library and is full of fine portraits. Exhibition catalogues, periodicals and a wide range of literature on writers and painters can be found in this magnificent room.
As you enter the marbled hall, your eyes are drawn to our magnificent 18th century staircase incorporating the Stanley family crest. This staircase leads up to the Ante-Room which still has the original period fireplace and mouldings. You are then enticed into our elegant drawing room hung with fine portraits, and displaying an impressive collection of books and Club archives. The Drawing Room is ideal for cocktail parties, lunches, dinners or meetings. From here you can wander through the bar into the Conservatory which overlooks the Club's courtyard garden. With these extra rooms we are able to create a comfortable setting for larger receptions without losing any sense of intimacy. These rooms can hold up to 180 guests for a cocktail party or reception before dinner.
