BAC - London SW11
The Grade II* listed building which houses BAC, designed in 1891 by EW Mountford, first opened as Battersea Town Hall in 1893. The building was used for over 70 years as council chambers, holding borough meetings, elections and discussions - it was a key focal point essential to the legislative activities within the borough.
Since the 1980s, areas of the building have been converted to reflect the building's rich history.
The Grand and Lower Halls, however, have remained constant in their use for entertainment, education and private functions - from jazz dancing classes to Asian wedding receptions, tea dances to art and fashion sales, and accountancy examinations to film shoots.
The Grand Hall is a unique in its spectacular style. The space is enhanced by its barrel-vaulted ceiling, solid wooden dance floor and period features, lending an original and beautiful tone to your setting.
