Fashion and Textile Museum (The) – London SE1
Situated in the culturally thriving South Bank. The Fashion and Textile Museum (FTM) represents the life long dream of founder, Zandra Rhodes. The brilliant and bold Fashion and Textile Museum is the first building in all of Europe to be designed by world-renowned architect Ricardo Legorreta, Mexico's most renowned architect.
Legoretta is well known for his extraordinary ability to holistically understand the chosen environment and blend it with indigenous Mexican architectural traditions. His use of colour, light, thick, textured walls, and water, united with his consideration for culture, simplicity, privacy, environment, a modern sense of design, and the use of the structure are all of the elements that have won him extensive and international recognition and make this a venue not like many others in London.
