October Gallery (The) - London WC1
Founded in 1978, the October Gallery is an art gallery dedicated to the appreciation of art from all cultures around the world.
The main exhibition space of the Gallery is on the ground floor of an elegant three storey Victorian building. The Theatre, located on the second floor, is a large, naturally lit room with wooden flooring, excellent acoustics, professional stage-lighting and a Bechstein Grand Piano. It is most frequently rented for a variety of theatre performances, for music concerts and for auditions. In the Centre of the building is a large open-air garden courtyard with fruit trees, shrubs and flowers. This provides an idyllic setting for luncheons, meetings with friends, or for small social gatherings.
Adjoining the Theatre is a quiet, spacious room lined with an impressive collection of books covering a broad range of subjects dealing with the Arts, Science and travel. The room is furnished with Oriental carpets, dark leather arm-chairs, and a full-sized conference table, the whole being beautifully lit by original stained glass windows.
